Eleven Wise Sayings (proverbs) From The 3rd Chapter of Proverbs
1. Hold on to both mercy and truth, operate in balance - this brings favor and understanding from both God and man (verses 3-4)
2. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He’ll direct your paths (verses 5-6)
3. Don’t be wise in your own eyes - fear God and depart from evil (verse 7)
4. Honor God with your substance, and with the first fruits of your increase (verse 9)
5. Don’t despise God’s chastening, don’t be weary of His correction. It’s those God loves He corrects (verses 11-12)
6. Keep sound wisdom and judgement, they’ll be life to your soul and grace to your neck (verses 21-22)
7. Don’t be afraid of sudden fear and destroying of the wicked when it comes. God knows how to keep you and protect you from falling (verses 25-26)
8. Don’t withhold good from those it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Don’t say “go and come back tomorrow, and I’ll give it to you”, when you have it right beside you (verses 27-28)
9. Don’t plan evil against your neighbor, he relies on you for safety (verse 29)
10. Don’t be angry or fight with someone without cause, when they have done nothing wrong to you to deserve it (verse 30)
11. Don’t envy the cruel person, and choose none of their ways (verse 31)
