Christianity: Doing vs Being
There is today, a huge focus on the 'show' of good/godly works as a mark of being a Christian. But this is not supposed to be so.
Rather than the focus on ticking boxes on a 'Christian works' checklist, as Christians, we must focus on allowing the Holy Spirit to renew our inner man, and rely on His power to be made true Christians inside and out.
When we do this we put our trust in God. The Holy Spirit then breathes inspiration on us on how to please God in our lives and we simply obey His leading.
In this way, rather than being in constant tumultuous struggle of how to keep up with 'Christianish' appearances, we live the Christ-life out without struggle, like a tree planted by rivers of water.
When we do this, we live Christ, and not just do Christ, and the Christian walk is then no longer a burden, but a joy.
