"Be anxious for nothing"

Of the vices spoken of in Christendom, one of the least focused on is anxiety. It’s not even seen as a vice, like pride, lust, envy, and the others. But it is just as poisonous. Here’s why.

Anxiety seems harmless because it’s internal and not targeted at any other person. But it actually has a target: your perception of God. Jesus told us that the God that cares for flowers can’t forget His children. However, anxiety’s role is to make us feel forgotten.

Anxiety is consistently asking “when will things happen? When will things start to work out for me?” "Will things go wrong?"

Anxiety distorts your perception of God, and instead of seeing Him as the Father taking care of you, you see Him as the cause of your perceived delay.

Anxiety is that poisonous, and that’s why the Bible tells us to “Be anxious for nothing” (Philippians 4:6)
