The intercessor

"And (God) saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor..." (Isaiah 59:16)

Did you go into church today looking for who will pray for you rather than who you'll pray for?

We are a ... priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). Priests of the olden Mosaic times were basically set up to meet the needs of the people.

If we have indeed been saved by God and called into His kingdom then we have no business entering a church to sit back and cross our legs waiting to be taken care of. We have been called to serve.

Modern Christianity has placed an undue emphasis on coming to church to badger God for YOUR miracle, YOUR breakthrough, YOUR blessing, but you know what? That's not what you were called for!

Sure there's nothing wrong with tabling your earthly requests before God, but if those are the only things you petition Him for, then that's a problem.

Have you ever wondered why the Lord's Prayer has a line about God's will being done? What about God's desires? What about what God wants? Do they matter to you?

Can you truly say you love God if you are only concerned about your desires and not His? What kind of name will you give a relationship in which one partner was only concerned about their own needs and not the others?

God's biggest need is not your songs of praise/worship, your dance, your money, your tithe ... His biggest need is YOU. "The harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few" - Jesus.

Can your feet be God's feet, going to the weary and broken people He desires?
Can your hands be His hands, reaching out to the wounded and needy ones?
Can your mouth be His, proclaiming His love and salvation to the lost and perishing?
Can you give God what He really needs from you - your heart and soul and mind?
