Nine reasons we celebrate Resurrection Sunday
There are so many reasons we celebrate Christ's resurrection. Here's reminding ourselves of 9 of them:
- Resurrection Sunday - In a show of power unmatched by any, Jesus Christ rises from the dead - and gives us a hope that we who believe in him will also rise from the dead.
- Reconciliation Sunday - Through Jesus' sacrifice, we are reunited with the Father - and move from living in enmity with God to a place of unbroken communion with Him.
- Regeneration Sunday - Because of Jesus, we can be changed from the beast nature imputed in our father Adam through sin, to the sanctified nature through faith in Christ.
- Release Sunday - We have been retrieved, through the sacrifice of Christ, from a sentence of sin, bondage, and eternal punishment.
- Renewal Sunday - "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new". We now have a life that is not governed by the mistakes and failures of the past but rather is renewed DAILY to the glorious purpose of God for us.
- Revelatory Sunday - Through the reconciliation efforts of Christ we are able to know the true nature of God. He is no longer the impersonal Force controlling the universe or the detached "Guy upstairs", but a Father we can draw near to and learn His ways, thoughts, and heart.
- Redemption Sunday - Through Christ's sacrifice the ransom has been paid for our lives - and we have been reclaimed from the power of the devil.
- Revolutionary Sunday - Because of this day, our lives undergo a radical change - from living a life sold out to our will, desires, and purposes to a life sold out to God's will, desires and purpose.
- Victory Sunday - "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it (the cross)". Christ's sacrifice has brought us the much-needed victory from the bondages of fear, sin, sickness, and death.
Hallelujah!
