If you had the chance....

After a review of one of the books of the Gospel through the perspective of an observer that lived during those times, some hard questions came up. Some that probably could never be answered, but are nevertheless worth thinking about.

If you had the chance, to go back in time, and relive the experiences of those who lived in the time of Christ, will you come out of that experience still insisting he is the son of God?

Would you abandon the logical reasoning that the son of a king cannot come from a lowly home and a poor background?

Would you be able to accept that a truly passionate and wise leader can still face oppression and ridicule from the learned and highly placed people in society?

Would you believe that a person who is supposed to show us the moral way to live can be arrested and executed as a common criminal?

Could you have held on still, while someone who promised life forever died an abrupt and shameful death?

Or would you, like the respected people of that society, hold on dearly to time-honored notions of godliness and lifestyle and firmly resist anything that seems to change it for the better?

Just my musings.
