Twelve lies of the devil (Fixing the identity crisis Part II)
What lies has the Devil tried to sell to you lately? The truth dispelling those lies - are in the scriptures.
- That God is angry at you and seeks to destroy you? (1 John 3:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11)
- That your sins are too terrible for God to overlook, and that God has rejected you?(Ephesians 2:12-19, 1 John 1:9)
- That you have strayed too far from God and there's nothing He can do to help you? (1 John 2:1-2, Ephesians 2:4-6)
- That your sins will overwhelm you and you will fall out of favour and lose your salvation? (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, Philippians 1:6, Jude 1:24)
- That only gloom, evil, and doom awaits you in your future? (Proverbs 4:18)
- That the turmoil in your environment and current circumstances will overwhelm you? (Jeremiah 17:7-8, Isaiah 40:29-31)
- That it is difficult to comprehend enough of God to even have a relationship with Him (Jeremiah 29:13, Jeremiah 31:33-34)
- That someone has deeply offended you and you cannot forgive or reconcile with them? (1 Peter 3:8-9, Matthew 18:23-35
- That God's word has been altered and no one can really know the truth about God? (John 15:26, 2 Peter 1:16, 1 John 1:1-3)
- That the world is spiraling out of control, and God cannot help us as things have gotten too bad? (2 Peter 2:9, 2 Peter 3:9-13, Isaiah 8:11-13 NLT)
- That you can run this race by yourself, and you don't need God, or the support system of the fellowship of the saints? (Proverbs 3:5-6, Hebrews 10:24-25)
- That you are a slave to your weaknesses or demons, and you can only continue to manage them but not expect total deliverance (Colossians 1:13, Romans 8:11, Isaiah 49:24-25)
